Stafford Arts Commission welcomes two new musicians to its January 26th Coffee House Series.
At 7pm, Joanne Lurgio, a talented songwriter with a gifted voice and wonderful guitar skills, will prompt you to chase your dreams and offer a tale or two about ordinary people who, like her, excel and inspire. In 2012, she was named Motif’s Magazine Female Vocalist of the year. Joanne has a distinct American feel with New England charm.
At 8pm, Avi Wisnia will be on the stage. Avi is a singer/songwriter with an eclectic mix of refreshing original songs, finding inspiration in classic Brazilian bossa nova, acoustic American folk, 1950 west-coast jazz and contemporary pop. Avi’s clever lyrics give a knowing nod to those who came before, while his smooth vocals and deft piano skills assure you that he is truly something new. His music plays on radio stations across the country and his songs have been used in movies.
The Coffee House series is sponsored by the Stafford Arts Commission and held at the Ben Muzio Town House, Old Town Hall, 221 East Street, Stafford Springs, CT. For more information call 860.684.9500
