Public school educators from across northeastern Connecticut are invited to attend a free session to discuss grant-funding sources with two guest speakers on Thurs., Oct. 17, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at EASTCONN’s Conference Facility at 376 Hartford Turnpike (Route 6), in Hampton.
The session is part of the EASTCONN Grant Development Council’s quarterly meeting, during which area educators meet to discuss grant opportunities, grant-writing strategies, and grant resources that can support educational innovations, new programs and the expansion of educational services.
Guest speakers will include Katherine “Kip” Parker, Division Director of the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut (www.cfect.org); and Judith Resnick, Executive Director of the Connecticut Business and Industry Association’s (www.cbia.com) Education Foundation.
“This is a great opportunity for our region’s public school educators to expand their list of potential funding sources,” said EASTCONN’s Director of Planning and Development Maureen Crowley, who facilitates the EASTCONN Grant Development Council.
“We hope our education colleagues will join us for a conversation about potential sources of funding, along with other interesting discussions surrounding the art and rigors of successful grant writing,” Crowley said. Refreshments will be served.
