The Eastern Regional Tourism District is pleased to report that in the recently concluded session of the Connecticut Legislature, the General Assembly and the Governor reached a comprise budget that provides funding for the five Regional Tourism Districts for FY ’14 and FY ’15. The base funding for the Eastern Regional Tourism District will remain at the same annual level as it did in FY ’13. When the initial budget was proposed for this year there was no funding for the five districts.
In addition the Legislature funded State wide marketing at $12 million in each year of the budget. The Governor’s budget had original set this funding at $15 million.
Special thanks goes to the ERTD Board of Directors, the tourism industry constituents, the State Senators and Representatives of Eastern Connecticut as well as the municipal leaders of our region.
