We just wrapped up a series of Regional Tourism Marketing Listening Tours, which brought together100+ organizations — including municipalities, attractions, hotels/B&Bs, chambers of commerce, economic development offices, arts and cultural organizations and event planners.
We discussed ways to continue working together to optimize our outreach and grassroots efforts, with dozens of follow-up meetings already scheduled. To learn more, email Rosemary Bove at rosemary.bove@ct.gov.
CTvisit.com is ready for winter! We’ve refreshed the home page with dynamic new motion images and updated the content to reflect Connecticut’s beautiful winter season!
We’ve also included a lot of holiday content, which will be reduced after January 1st to make room for more winter items. Be sure to update your listing with wintertime images of your property. Not only does it refresh your look, but it also increases the chance you will be featured more prominently on the site this season!
2017 will be here before we know it! We’d love to make sure we share your news about any and all upcoming anniversaries or openings, as well as changes, additions or improvements you’re planning for 2017.
If we don’t know about it, we can’t promote it. If we do know about it, we’ll make sure we get the word out in our social media channels and more! Share your news with Jean Hebert at jean.hebert@ct.gov.
You know when you’re reading an article on a website and you see a “you may also like” link at the bottom? Well, we are currently featuring dozens of CTvisit.com articles across many media outlets in just this way.
This promotional method, which is called content seeding, has contributed to nearly half of our 4 million website visits this year. In the almost 200 articles we’ve promoted this way, we’ve mentioned over 950 partners, driving clicks and calls. Plus, our PR efforts have featured another nearly 1,000 partners. Want in? Make sure to let us know about the exciting things you’re doing to attract visitors in 2017!
Many, many visitors come to CTvisit.com looking for travel deals, packages, discounts, and more.
You can build an attractive package to promote your business or team up with another nearby partner and create an even bigger value. Or ask us for help putting a package or deal together.
Once your offer is complete, be sure to add it to our site. Our site metrics show that listings that feature more events, deals and packages generate many more click-throughs to the partner’s own website.
Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 4, 2017, when the Connecticut Governor’s Conference on Tourism returns to the Connecticut Convention Center. Two platinum sponsors have already signed on, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun (thank you both!), and we’re busy vetting keynote speakers and planning the workshops. Watch for our registration sign-up after the new year. If you’d like to become a sponsor or exhibitor, please contact Sue Henrique at susanh@ctcsb.org.
