(Willimantic, CT) – Consonare Choral Community is proud to sponsor a evening that bridges the vocal arts and spans the generations by bringing the singing community together for a special concert: Walk in Beauty on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 6:30pm at St. Mary’s Church in Willimantic, Connecticut. There is no admission for this performance, but donations are gratefully accepted.
This performance of Walk in Beauty includes a collection of music that implores us to explore the beauty that surrounds us, to find peace along the journey, and to consider our intent as we walk through this world. Featuring choral music by Ramsey, Mendelssohn, Brumfield, and more. This collaborative performance will feature the community ensembles from Consonare Choral Community: Choir Matrix Women’s Ensemble and Consonare Youth Choirs. This concert also features our special guests, Hartford Opera Theater, who will be presenting a one-act opera called “Starsong” composed by Elliot Yokum with the libretto by Sarah Barker.
Our community choral ensembles are open to all to participate with no audition necessary. This performance is sponsored by Consonare Choral Community, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in Mansfield to help cultivate consonance and build community through choral music in Connecticut through affordable and accessible programs, and Hartford Opera Theater, an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of all members of the Greater Hartford community by offering quality, innovative, and affordable opera. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted to help support our efforts to make choral music accessible to all in the community.
