An innovative pilot program was offered through a partnership between
Silver Circle Art Center, Art Therapist Johanna Pike, and PCS, was funded in part through a Regional Initiative Grant from the Windham Arts Council.
Over the course of four to six weeks, the participating girls of the Therapeutic Arts Mentorship Program united to discuss and create work on important topics such as:
Emotions, Self-Image, Empowerment, Relationships, and Self-Confidence.
Following discussions, the girls partook in an artistic project based on the topic of conversation with the opportunity to share their work with the group by its completion.
In doing so, the girls utilized the arts in a form of self-expression and supported their fellow class members.
