It’s still cold outside but at Channel 3 Kids Camp we are busy preparing for and registering children for summer camp. Registrations have been rolling in since January and spots are filling fast. There will be nine, one-week sessions throughout the summer.
Channel 3 Kids Camp has a rich history of providing summer camp experiences; this will be the 107th summer for the camp. Children from all over Connecticut attend, ranging from age 4 to 13. Activities that the children participate in include swimming, ropes challenge course with zip line, performing arts, visual media arts, nature hikes, rock climbing, arts and crafts, athletics, archery, theme days and more!
Channel 3 Kids Camp is pleased to offer four opportunities to come tour the facility, get to know the staff, and learn the ins and outs of a typical day at camp. There are six scheduled Open House Days on site in Andover, CT on Saturday, March 18, April 22, May 5 and 20 from 10am-12pm. Attendance at one of our open houses will excite children about what happens at camp and reassure parents that our staff, our facility and our program are top notch.
In addition to traditional day and overnight camp, Channel 3 Kids Camp operates a year-round childcare center within the camp grounds. Families are welcome to tour the center as well. The center, called Open Arms, accepts children from 18 months to 5 years.
Channel 3 Kids Camp believes that ALL children deserve a camp experience. Its mission is to provide fun year-round opportunities to children of all abilities, families, and communities through recreational and educational programs that promote diversity, acceptance, and environmental appreciation. The nonprofit organization provides opportunities through after school programming, home school enrichment programs, weekend groups and respite weekends, traditional overnight and day camp summer programs, and its new, year-round preschool. Channel 3 Kids Camp is located in Andover and Coventry Connecticut on 150 wooded acres alongside the Skungamaug River. The setting lends itself to welcoming nature, learning, and making new friends.
