HOLIDAY LIGHT FANTASIA INVITES MILITARY VETERANS & ACTIVE PERSONNEL TO SEE THE LIGHT SHOW FOR FREE

Dec 23, 2016 by WindhamAreaArts

HARTFORD, CONN., DECEMBER 20, 2016 – Now through New Year’s Day, Connecticut’s “Holiday Light Fantasia” will continue delight the public with its nightly illuminated drive-through display in Goodwin Park at 1130 Maple Avenue in Hartford. With over one million shining lights – the dazzling light show is a benefit for Channel 3 Kids Camp.

On Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., “Holiday Light Fantasia” will say “thank you” to the men and women who have served or are serving our country in the military by offering FREE admission to cars with individuals who show: a government-issued military identification card; a Veterans Administration Universal Access i.d. card; or a membership card in a veterans organization. Everyone else can attend that night at the regular admission fee of $15 per car.

One of Connecticut’s favorite holiday traditions, “Holiday Light Fantasia” is open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays, and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The two-mile show transforms Hartford’s Goodwin Park into a drive-through wonderland of holiday spirit with a beautiful collection of over 1 million lights. Familiar characters, local tributes, and holiday favorites shine bright in larger-than-life illuminated scenes and 200 individual displays. Lighted animations celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year’s, Three Kings’ Day, and various scenes of Americana.

Holiday Light Fantasia not only shares seasonal cheer, but All proceeds will benefit year-round programs offered at the Channel 3 Kids Camp in Andover and Coventry, Conn., a non-profit 501(c)(3) funded by grants and donations from individuals, foundations and businesses. Ticket sales make it possible for all children to attend camp regardless of economic, physical or developmental ability.  Admission is just $15 per car.

Full details, directions and discount coupons for “Holiday Light Fantasia” are available online at www.holidaylightfantasia.org. To learn more about Channel 3 Kids camp, visit www.channel3kidscamp.org or call 860-742-CAMP(2267)
