Willimantic. CT —The Willimantic Orchestra opens its 36th season on Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. with a concert titled “Extended Family.” The concert will take place in the Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Instructional Center at Eastern Connecticut State University. The public is invited. Admission is free.
This season the orchestra will be performing under the direction of guest conductors. The November concert will be conducted by Kyle Wernke, adjunct professor of music at the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music.
The program includes “The Immovable Do” (Or “The Cyphering C”) by Percy Grainger; “Our Town” from the film score by Aaron Copland; and Robert Schumann’s “Symphony No. 3 in E-flat, Op. 97” (“Rhenish”).
