Regional Initiative Arts Grants

May 11, 2016 by WindhamAreaArts

Grant applicants who submit an application to, but do not receive an award from, either the Arts Learning, Arts & Community Impact, or Public Art Community Project grant program, will be permitted to submit an application to the REGI grant program (submission deadline of July 29, 2016).  In these cases, submission of a REGI grant application:

 ·        WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED until the applicant receives formal email notification from the CT Office of the Arts of no award from your previous project application (awards will be publicized by late June 2016),

·        Will be accepted based solely on condition of proper eligibility and compliance with all published REGI guidelines and program parameters.

The Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) developed this project grant in partnership with its nine Designated Regional Service Organizations which make up a valuable statewide service network.
The Regional Initiative grant program (REGI) awards grants ranging from $1,000 to $4,000*.  The REGI program is a good fit for applicants primarily interested in small projects that support access to the creative process and/or creative experience, especially those projects that experiment with new ways to apply the arts within community.  Projects can take many varied forms: engage in a specific community matter, reflect on personal experience, bring neighbors together, etc.
Eligible Applicants:
  • Artists
  • Arts Organizations with 501(c)(3) status with annual operating income under $300,000
  • Arts Programs of a 501(c)(3) non-arts organization
  • Municipal Arts Departments
  • Pre-K through 12 Schools
  • Parent Teacher Organizations (PTOs)
Applicants to the Regional Initiative Grant program MUST submit their application by11:59 pm on Friday, July 29, 2016.  The on-line application for the Regional Initiative Grant program will be available soon.  In the meantime, please review the program guidelines and accompanying documents below.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Review the Grants-At-A-Glance chart for a listing of COA grant options as applicants may ONLY select one program (of those identified on this chart) in a single grant period.

*All grants funds are dependent on state and federal annual appropriations as allotted by the Governor and the Connecticut General Assembly, therefore, all grant monies are contingent
on availability.
