Willimantic, Conn – On Nov. 5, Eastern Connecticut State University’s Women’s Center will host a University Hour in the Student Center Theatre from 3-4 p.m. Maryam Elahi, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, will talk to Eastern students about human rights.
Elahi is a human rights activist and champion of the rights of women and girls. She willdiscuss her beliefs on students’ responsibility and power in proclaiming ownership of issues such as social justice. This event will teach students how to become more active in the Eastern community and elsewhere.
