UCONN’s WILLIAM BENTON MUSEUM OF ART HOSTS BENEFIT at THE GOVERNOR’S RESIDENCE on JUNE 4
Storrs, CT—The public is invited to attend a William Benton Museum of Art Benefit Cocktail Reception on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 5:30–7:30 pm at The Governor’s Residence, 990 Prospect Avenue, Hartford, Connecticut. The event includes tours of the residence, jazz by Earl MacDonald and Henry Lugo, and food from Café Louise. Proceeds from the event will support the Benton tradition of providing free exhibitions and programs. Tickets are $100 per person. Space is limited. RSVPs are required by May 31. The William Benton Museum of Art is Connecticut’s state art museum, located on the University of Connecticut campus at Storrs. The museum offers exhibitions of 15th- to 21st-century art drawn from its collection of 6,500+ works, as well as faculty and Master of Fine Arts installations, traveling exhibitions, gallery talks, campus art walks, and musical performances. From June 4–August 4 the Benton will be exhibiting From Old Masters to Revolutionaries: Five Centuries of the Benton’s Best and 20/21: Modern and Contemporary Art from the Benton’s Collection.
