Very special guest instructor and highly regarded artist Don Munson will start out with the importance and classical reason/tradition for a drawing using a variety of materials with inspiration from master artists. Students willl also look at patterns and duplication doing transfers and making collages to make your very own work of art. Don will also work in technology and show how it can be used to make contemporary art.
Don Munson has a long career as an acclaimed NY artist who is in the MoMA, the Society of in NYC Illustrators Museum of American Illustration, and the Hecksher Museum’spermanent collection. He was the VP of Random house for 15 years where he designed hundreds of book covers and developed nine known typographical fonts. Don has taught drawing, illustration, art history, design, typography and advertising at Parsons, Pratt and City University of NY. Currently Mr. Munson teaches Graphic Design, Typography, Fundamentals and Art History at Westfield State University, MA.Do NOT miss this chance to have your children learn from this delightful and inspiring artist!
